Alright. Update time.
For those of you who don't know, Trik got his LDS mission call. He has been called to serve in the Provo Utah Mission. Let's be real, it is kind of funny. Before he got his actual call, we had talked about where we thought he was going to end up going. He really wanted to go somewhere out of the country, and then he had jokingly said something along the lines of: “Knowing my luck, I'm going to go to like... St. George... or Idaho... or somewhere else close...” Yup. Can't get much closer than Provo. He is only serving there for three months, after which point they are most likely going to send him somewhere else. We don't know where the somewhere else is going to be yet, but hopefully it is somewhere cool.
Anyway, in the past week, we have all been spending a LOT of time together, due to the fact that he is leaving. On last Wednesday, we went laser tagging. I really like laser tagging, but I am probably one of the worst players ever. On the opposite side of the spectrum is Trik, who was REALLY GOOD. It was super fun and intense, and on the bright side, I didn't get last place either of the rounds we played. We played 2 half-hour rounds, though they both didn't feel like they were half-hour. After our rounds, we went to Dairy Queen and got ice cream. It was most yummy. Then, we went and watched some Doctor Who before I had to go home. My mom had let me stay out till 11:00 that night, so waking up the next morning for school was a massive PAIN IN MY RUMP.
On Friday, we had his official “Going Away Party”. I had to work, which made me sad, because I ended up being late. At said party, I gave Trik his going-away present that I made for him. It was a blanket that had “Rejoice Evermore, Pray without Ceasing, In everything give thanks” sewn into it. It was a very fuzzy blanket. Anyway, so I gave it to him, and for like half the night he was wearing it around kind of like a cape. It made me so happy. We had a brawl tournament, and we just sort of hung out. It was super fun. We ended up playing night games later. I suck miserably at those. I am better at the whole “laying low and hiding” thing, but when it comes “running like there is no tomorrow” I am sort of a FAIL. We also played MUNCHKIN, which I have mentioned before, though never explained. It is a card game which is sort of like Killer Bunnies, but different.
Saturday morning Hair 'n' Trik 'n' I got together to watch the Christmas special of DOCTOR WHO. Yeah, I know, it's a little bit LATE, but whatever. So we went to Trik's sister's house and watched it with his family. Afterwards, we went to UVU campus to buy some things for Trik's mission. Then we went back to his house, and found Prime and Bobo waiting for us to go to the FESTIVAL OF COLORS. I was SOOOOO EXCITED to go this fabulous thing. However, by the time we got back and we had gotten everything together, it was about 1:45 in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I had to work on Saturday, so if I had gone to the Festival, I would have had to drive out, spend MAYBE 10 minutes throwing chalk in peoples faces, and then drive back. I do not have the money to spend on that kind of wasteful gas, so... I didn't go. I was pretty upset about it, but that is OK. So I went to work while all of my manfriends went to the Festival. Work... Happened.... but we are NOT going to go into that. After work, I went back up and we hung out. We ended up watching The Incredibles. I like that film.
Sunday was Bobo's farewell talk in church, so I saw Trik on Sunday too. At the luncheon after church, we all just sort of sat and discussed life. Trik was pretty depressed due to the fact the preemptive homesickness had set in. It stressed me out to see him so sad.
On Monday (AKA yesterday), it was a minimal day. Minimal day is this stupid thing that my school district does instead of giving us days off. They are stupid because it means we are at school until 12:25 and each period isn't even an hour long. Anywho, so afterwards we went and we hung out at Trik's house. We went and filmed some, and then we went back to his house. Hair chilled up stairs with Trik's older brother, while I went down into the mancave to help him pack. It was lots of fun, and we had lots of good bonding time. This whole time in the back of my head there was a little voice telling me how this was the last time I would see him before he leaves on his mission. I did a pretty good job to ignore this voice, though it still made me kind of sad. While we were packing, he got distracted by one of his sketchbooks. We ended up going through it and having deep discussions about the pictures and things. It was thoroughly enjoyable. After that, though, it was time for me and Hair to go home, so Trik could focus on packing, and so I could go home and clean the bathroom.
Let's be real. I LOST IT. I honestly can not remember the last time I have cried that hard. It was kind of embarrassing, and Hair felt SUPER uncomfortable, but frankly, I didn't care. I just sat there and hugged Trik, and then when I pulled away, I noticed how much I was really crying. I got his shirt wet with my tears. He was very chill about it though, and he did a pretty good job of comforting me.
I am going to miss him SO much.
I cried the whole way home, and I swear Hair wanted to punch me in the face because of it. When he got out of the car, though, it got even worse. Honestly, I hadn't thought I was capably of crying harder. SURPRISE. I can cry pretty dang hard. When I got home, my mom saw how torn up I was and gave me steak. It helped, but still.
Sorry that was kind of angsty and also super long. But that is what has been happening as of late.
Love always,
Holly.

The GM and the rotten, smelly, stupid but actually kind of OK day
Once upon a time, there was this Ginger Midget. She woke up one friday morning, and she thought to herself: "Today is going to be a good day." So as she left her room that morning to go about her typical morning business, she had a smile on her face and a song in her heart.
When the time came for her to leave to go to school, she was unhappy because of this, because she doesn't really like school. But she left anyway. She got into her beautiful black Mazda and closed the door. Though, the door didn't actually close. It just sort of bounced back open. 'Awkward...' she thought, and she tried to close it again, but the same thing happened. 'Well... pooh.' She thought as she got out of her car and went back into the house. She went and informed her mother of the trouble, and her mother responded: "Well, you can drive my van!" Dread filled the Ginger Midget. She HATED that van with such fire and passion it wasn't even funny. "It'll be fine!" She responded. "I will just... hold the door shut the whole way to school..." Her mom shrugged and said "OK." So the GM went back out and got back into her car, and drove to school. The entire trip, she had one hand on the steering wheel and the other one pulling with all its might to keep the door closed. When she finally got to school and got out, the door shut just fine. She tested it a few times, but it seemed to be working spiffily. Awkward....
So the GM then went to school. In first period, she had to make up a test that she had totally forgotten to study for. She did fairly OK on it, but it really stressed her out in the moments leading up to it. Second period was her drama class. No one was really in that class because they had all gone on a field trip that was kind of expensive and other things that we won't go into right now. As the GM went to her third period class, her teacher informed her that she was failing. 'Great,' she thought. 'That is JUST what I need right now.' So that happened. Next, the GM went to lunch.
Lunch is that magical thing where you can leave the school and go get food things with the people you consider to be friends. On this day, SoOzIn and the Ginger Midget decided that they wanted to go get food together, so they went to WENDY'S. As they were in the drive through, they decided that since neither of them had ever tried one, they would get a BACONATOR. They pulled out of the drive through, and started heading back to the school. "This tastes like farm murder... which tastes like diabetes..." SoOzIn said, taking a few bites of the sandwich. "Oh nuts, it peed meat juice on me pants. Here, have some!" She then handed the beast to the GM, who took a few bites as she drove. "I think I am having a heart attack," said the GM. They both thought that eating a BACONATOR and saying it gave you a heart attack within two bites was the funniest thing ever.
Fourth period, nothing really exciting happened for the GM, except that is was long and dull. She then came home, and sat on the couch playing Legend of Zelda. Her mother finished teaching for the day and came upstairs, and then began to have a MASSIVE fight with the GM's father. It kind of made GM want to curl up and die. She was super relieved when she had to go to work (45 minutes later her parents were still going at it).
Work for her was CRAZY BUSY. There was lots of people wanting pizza. And she understood this. Even SHE wanted pizza. It was rather RATHER stressful, and due to all the gathering stress from the rest of the day, it really made the GM want to drive off of a cliff. Afterwards, she went home and called Hair. She then went to go play with him, Trik, and Prime. They partied up and did fun things like MUNCHKIN.
Then she went home and wrote all about her angsty day on her blog.
The end.

A year in review...
So... it is already the end of the year. Awkward... So, without any further ado, I shall be giving you a summary of my actually life this year, and the things that may have happened in it.
The first thing of import that happened last year was UTA! For those of you unaware, this stands for Utah Theater Association NOT Utah Transit Authority. Basically, it is when high school actors all get together and go to class and workshops and other various things. MANdy, Mama, SoOzIn and I were pretty close on this trip.
Next that deserves, you know, being in my blog, because it is all big and important or something, is the REGIONAL DRAMA MEET. This is a drama competition. Yes, they DO actually exist. Funny, huh? WE DRAMA KIDS ARE JUST AS HARDCORE AS STUPID SPORTS FOLKS!! Anyway, there are lots of different categories that you can compete in, including things like humorous monologues, old... timey monologues (I can't actually remember what this is called... awkward) or like, Modern-day scenes and stuff to that effect. There are rounds and judges... blah blah blah... I didn't actually compete, but I went and watched the rounds and was supportive and what not.
Alright. Up next is THE FESTIVAL OF COLORS. I went to this BEAUTIFUL thing with Trik, Crack, Prime, and Bobo. It was good stuff not only because it was the Festival of Colors which I would imagine would always be fun, but also because we all wore various helmets/costumes. Bobo wore the Darth Vadar Helmet and an AF cape that he made. Trik was dressed as Link from Legend of Zelda, with THE BEST FLOPPY GREEN HAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. Prime had the Optimus Prime head. Yup. Anyway, Crack had the Bumblebee Helmet on, and I had a generic clone helmet. It was super fun, and EVERYONE AND THEIR DOG wanted their pictures with us. It was slightly ridiculous. It was super fun. I love the men of whom I went with. A LOT.
Nextly, is the END OF THE YEAR BANQUET. Yes I know there is an actually other blog post, but this was a REALLY important point in my year! There was MUCH weeping involved. That is basically all I am going to say about it.
Also, my favorite BATMAN took me to Lagoon for the first time in my life! Holy Poo, I love this woman. She made me go on every single ride that I said I was too scared to go on. And yes. Every ride that she made me go on I had buttloads of fun, but as they would start up I would be screaming "I HATE YOU I HATE I HATE YOU!!" :D One of the funnest days in my whole life.
Uh... I am kind of done writing now I think, though I only got to June... darn. So... Here are pictures for events and things I didn't mention!
